Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue works hard to provide fire and life safety education to students in our community. We partner with our local schools, and work with teachers from elementary to high school, to teach a variety of developmentally appropriate lessons about fire and life safety. The lessons incorporate key concepts outlined in the Learn Not To Burn curriculum designed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Our lessons are also aligned with Common Core State Standards. We attempt to visit all of the Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 4th Grade classrooms in our district and offer both in-person and virtual visits.

The NFPA has created programs to help teachers reach their students with important fire prevention lessons. Learn Not to Burn® (LNTB) Kindergarten presents six fire-safety messages using classroom lessons, activities and home connections. It can be taught as a stand-alone fire safety unit or easily integrated in language arts Common Core curriculum lessons. Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue would love to be invited to your classroom to teach a lesson to support the fire-safety messages within the curriculum.
