Youth Firesetter Intervention

Youth Firesetter Intevention Logo

Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue is committed not only to fighting fires, but also preventing them. As a result, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue offers youth firesetting interventions.

Specially trained fire district personnel conduct an assessment of the child to determine his/her risk level and provide fire safety education to the family. Our program usually consists of two sessions lasting approximately 1.5-2 hours each. We require that the child's parent(s)/guardian(s) participate in the sessions. When fire setting behavior is determined to be indicative of more serious problems, referral to specialized agencies may be recommended.
